Mississippi Chess
dedicated to da Little Wood Magician

They both knew the night was over
She got up, he turned his head to see her walk away.
She made coffee and brought in some water
He gathered up his stuff and tried to face the day
        II/
Both were running free and wild through the world
She was looking for a man she could hold on to
But she knew, this one here just wouldn’t do…
So she didn’t loose one word.
        Chorus:
Playin’ chess with a bad hang-over
Pretending to be what they call lovers
          Playing chess with a bad-hang-over
Just to kill some time (alt.: Mississippi style)

        III/
He just didn’t want to go and leave her now
Time slipped away, he didn’t care.
The world narrowed down to her small home
And it was good to know
          It was good to know
That she was in that little world, too…
        Chorus
